REUTERS Agency got interested in two new security systems: AEDO (Automatic Emergency Door Opening) and SECS (Seatbelt Emergency Cutting System). Agency participated, as the first in the world, in the test of AEDO mounted in an armored military transporter named SKOT, and then in the test of AEDO and SECS mounted in the Ford Mondeo. Presentation took place on 2 of June 2016 in Krosno in Poland.

At the commission of Discovery Corporate Services Limited, a film was produced (11 min 30 s), which shows operation of AEDO and SECS safety systems in a military armored carrier, SKOT, and in a Ford Mondeo. The premiere of the film was on 1 February 2017 in „Wynalazcy przyszłości” (translation: “Future inventors”) shown by CANAL+DISCOVERY (repeated on 2, 4, 5 and 7 February). The firefighters who arrived at the scene were unable to intervene due to the state of the vehicle. With the battery pack broken and battery cells lying on the floor, they were afraid there was a risk of electrocution. That forced them to keep their distance and simply contain the fire, leaving the vehicle to burn. The driver, 53-year-old, was found dead on arrival and his body could not be extracted from the wreckage.

When driver or a passenger presses a evacuating button while holding the door handle, pyrotechnic load bolts ripped the door hinges disconnecting the door from the rest of the body and allowing safe to leave the vehicle. Congress 590 – Rzeszow (17-18.11.2016)
On 17-18 November 2016 we participated in the 590 CONGRESS in Rzeszow, where we were invited to participate in “Showroom of the newest Polish technologies”.
We had the privilege of hosting our stand of the President of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Duda, who was introduced to the new innovative security systems AEDO and SECS.
The President was interested in the possibility of using AEDO and SECS systems in military means of transport in order to increase the security of Polish soldiers and improve the competitiveness of the Polish armaments industry.

Car accident

In many cases car passengers get trapped in cars because of jammed door or blocked  seat belts. Such situations are very dangerous and often tragic, especially when a vehicle is on fire or sinks.We have developed:- the AEDO (Automatic Emergency Door Opening) system, made up of pyrotechnic telescopic actuators, installed in the vehicles’ central pillars,- the SECS (Seatbelt Emergency Cutting System), made up of pyrotechnic seat belt cutting device, installed at the belt reel.Both the systems are electronically controlled and will get activated after a crash or overturn and after the vehicle stops moving, with a pre-set time delay, e.g.: 5-15 sec., as well as after a vehicle starts sinking in water or is on fire. Cutting off the seatbelts and opening the jammed doors gives the passengers a chance to leave the vehicle and a rescue team to get to the accident victims, which often saves lives.

Our devices can be installed on vehicle both at the stage of manufacturing and in service, as additional safety feature.

1) new and second-hand passenger cars, delivery vans trucks and buses and coaches,
2) bullet-proof civilian cars (VIP),
3) bullet-proof and combat military vehicles,
4) planes, helicopters, both civilian and military,
5) trains and other rail vehicles,

SECS (Seatbelt Emergency Cutting System)

 

A few seconds after an accident or crash and after a vehicle stops moving and after the vehicle starts sinking in water or is on fire – a sensor transmits an electric pulse to activate the gas generators in the devices cutting off the fastened seat belts.

 

After the gas generator is activated, the compressed gas causes dynamic shift of the sealed piston which hits a cylindrical element with a cutting blade and the blade moves and cuts the webbing (tape) of the fastened seat belt. Such construction of the cutting device ensures it is light and of small dimensions.

AEDO (Automatic Emergency Door Opening) system
The vehicle’s door automatic emergency opening system opens the all the vehicle’s doors after an accident and provides the passengers with a possibility of leaving the vehicle.
At a right moment a system of electronic sensors transit san electric pulse  to activate the pyrotechnic loads installed in telescopic actuators. These actuators can be installed in the car’s central pillars, below the lock, in the side sills or doors.

The problem of imprisonment victims of accidents in cars occurs worldwide and continues to grow.

Dangerous side windows in USA

In the United States, from 1 September 2017 new regulations issued by the US Agency for Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which require manufacturers of passenger cars and light trucks registered in the US market, the mandatory installation of side windows made of shatterproof laminated glass (instead of the previously used tempered glass). This is to prevent the death of about 300 people die falling out of the car during the accident, but unfortunately laminated glass are a major threat to passenger cars, which drown or burn, because the windows can not be broken down. Currently car manufacturers gradually increase the number of cars with laminated glass door cars to reach 100% of produced cars with laminated glass used.

The new regulations will cause a dramatic increase in deaths and serious burns of people, who can be in the last moments rescued from the burning car. In 2015 in USA comes to about 174 000 fires cars where burning alive more than 445 people and more than 1 550 people suffer severe burns, while 400 people sinks in cars, where every year the water gets there more than 10 000 cars.

Dangerous air conditioning in the car in the US, EU and Japan

Another threat to all of us are provisions introduced in the US, EU and Japan requiring all automakers use in air conditioners ecological refrigerant R1234 yf, which is extremely dangerous, because after the occurrence of fire car produces highly toxic gas hydrogen fluoride which additionally combined with water produces lethal hydrofluoric acid.
